SAMPLE :: Eye Tracking |
||
|
What
A technique for measuring where and how people are looking at web pages. The results can tell us about the pattern in which the user has looked at elements on a webpage that helps to optimize layout. |
When
Tests are conducted on prototypes at the end of the development phase or before design begins to allow comparisons with competitors or gauge current usabilty problems. |
Why
The strength of this tool is that the user does not have to explain what they see or think, everything is recorded, and the documentation is very convincing. However, Eye tracking tells you what users looked at, but not why, and the quality of the output is very much dependent of how the test leader interprets the results. |
