ANALYSIS :: User Interviews

User interviews
What

Used to obtain qualitative information about how the users feel about a product or service. They are conducted face to face and often in an environment that the users are comfortable in.

When

User interviews occur at the start, during and end of a design process. A script is composed to ensure the interview stays on topic and covers points from an unbiased, neutral perspective.

Why

Non-verbal clues are extremely important parts of this process, and being physically present allows tone of voice, expressions and body language to be noted. Making a point of these observations is important and the reason why user interviews offer a higher level of quality over telephone interviews or surveys.
